Before you undertake a restoration, I would like to give you some advice.

• If you haven't restored a car before, don't purchase one that isn't drivable. Regardless of the car (Morgan, Bricklin, Spitfire, etc.) Drive it, fall in love with it; you will need these memories to help you through the rough spots of the restoration.

• A restoration takes 2 things, time and money. The more money you have, the less time is required for a restoration; as you can farm out the work. The less money you have the longer the restoration will take as more of the work will have to done by you. Typically, a restoration takes from 2 to 5 years!

• You will need quite a bit of space. Especially when it comes to storing the front fenders (of a Morgan). My disassembled Morgan ended up consuming both of my garage bays. In addition, to shelves that were erected in the garage to store small parts, there were parts in the attic of the house and in almost every room, under every piece of furniture. In fact the body sat proudly in the living room for about 1 year.

• A very understanding significant other (wife, husband, girlfriend, etc.) to put up with the mess. Remember this is a hobby and you can't spend all your time on it. Make time for the rest of the family.
