ROADSTER VITAL PARTS compiled by Gary Kneisley & yours truly, with help
from friends of The Morgan Roadster Group

There are fewer than 110 2005-2006 era V6 Ford 3.0L Morgan Roadsters in the United States.  These cars are a unique combination of components assembled by Morgan specifically for US import regulations.  Since I purchased mine in 2011 I discovered a wide range of undocumented specifics regarding its care and maintenance.  The result of my experience through 2015 is as follows:

Air Conditioner Compressor  Visteon XS7H 19497 AC, Dryer 33232  Charge to 38-40 psi.  1.25 pounds Freon

Alternator: Mitsubishi A005TA7792.  I am told but do not know for sure this crosses to 2001-08 Ford Fiesta and also in some Mazda Zs

Anti Freeze:  3/4 Pentosin Pentafrost N. F. Or Ford Motorcraft Premium Gold (yellow colored) VC 7 A.

BELTS

Front belt: Gates K060747 or Dayco 5060745

Rear belt: Dayco E030250 .  (Recommended not to use DAYCO, use Gates where possible)

Gates Part numbers

KO30250SF     Outside circumference 25,625, or 650mm.   Eff length 25.04"

Ford Motorcraft JK3-262

Dayco part number (will work in a pinch but not recommended) EO 30250 SF

NB. Stretchy belts look smaller, but when stretched will give proper tension.  Once removed do not reuse.

KO60744              74.955”                               1904mm                             74.39”                  6

KO60747              75.346”                               1914mm                             74.78”                  6

(Gary used the KO60747, Rick the KO60744, and they both worked.) These will cross to other belt manufactuers but Gates or Motorcraft are preferred.

 Brakes

Front Pads  Mintex MLB 52 Rover Group Item Found on MGR V8
Rear Shoe size: Ferodo FSB 385 R, originally fitted on 1989 Leyland DAF/Ford Transit
Rear Cylinders: Delphi Lockheed LW 15953 also the same Caparo AP Braking CW 15953
Brake Fluid. Castrol LMA-DOT or DOT 5.1 (Never use DOT 5!!) Some 3.7 owners report that their original fluid used by the Factory boils. The
fluids recommended  here should cure that dangerous problem..especially the DOT 5.1 However, remember that the boiling temperature of ALL fluids decreases over time.

Engine: Same basic engine as 2004 Ford Escape 3.0 and Mondeo V6 with slight Morganish differences.

FILTERS

Fuel Filter: Bosch 71542 or Fram G3802A

Oil Filter:     Ford FL 400 S, Fram PH5803 or K&N HP-2010

Air Filter: Ford Motorcraft FA1772 (Fram CA10170 seems to be the same size).

Fluids

Clutch Fluid. Castrol LMA-DOT

Engine Oil: 5W-20 Motorcraft Full Synthetic works very well, and is less expensive than Mobil 1.

Trans Fluid:  Mobil 1 ATF D21065/unavailable in US.  Use Jaguar #JLM 20237 (per Morgan Spare).  A Jaguar dealer can get it if they cannot or do not have it in stock.  Get two (2) quarts. This is non synthetic mineral based ATF oil.  Same oil as used in the Jag S-type which used the same transmission. Getrag says to use Dexron II only.  Do not use Dexron III or higher

Diff Fluid BTR and Morgan specifies Castrol  SAF-XJ for Lim Slip.  This reported to be unavailable in the US but via Google I found a couple of sources including Amazon.   And a sports car shop might be able to find some through their specialty suppliers. As of this writing (4-2016)

http://www.partsgeek.com/ss/?i=1&ssq=SAF-XJ+%2B+FM+Booster+%23+83+22+2+282+583&x=31&y=12

Brake Fluid: Castrol LMA-DOT or DOT 5.1 (Never use DOT 5!!)

Lorne Goldman of GoMoG reports, after a discussion with the responsible BTR engineer in Australia in 2004, that the BMW SAF-XJ + FM Booster # 83 22 2 282 583.  (very expensive but obtainable from all BMW sources) that this is the only oil in NA that is acceptable to BTRNONE OTHER (which is very annoying).  However, he has had flawless experience with this gear oil for 14 years and over 100,000kms.  Much more information on this link

N.B. However,  I have used this suggestion of Mobil 1 gear oil and added suggested limslip additives only to have the diff start  clicking within a year or two. Govern yourself accordingly.

Intake Manifold is special part for European Mondeo V6, not the same as the US version of the engine.
